I saw this with an SRO audience at the Film Forum's Vitaphone fest in New York. The biggest hit of the night; the crowd went crazy for them. They seemed completely contemporary; you could put them on the Letterman show and they'd still go over big.
I saw a different Shaw And Lee short in the Vitaphone Vaudeville program that the San Francisco Silent Film Festival produced at the Castro Theatre. Not quite as good as this one, but still damn funny.
