National Silent Movie Day Cartoons!
It is our pleasure at Way Too Damn Lazy To Write A Blog to celebrate both our 20th anniversary of blogging AND National Silent Movie Day with a bunch of classic cartoons. Leading off: that guy responsible for Andy Panda, Woody Woodpecker, Chilly Willy and Smedley (the dog voiced by Daws Butler), Walter Lantz!
Batting second: a mosquito. Now it's INSECT TIME, courtesy of Winsor McCay.
In The Roaring 20's, suave and debonair Felix The Cat is the predecessor of The International!
Here, Felix the Cat tangles with a germ - not The Germs, a germ!
And. . . speaking of silent era cartoons, some of the best of the best were produced by the Fleischer Studio. . . YouTube playlists for both the Out Of The Inkwell series and the subsequent Inkwell Imps are not to be missed.
Craig Davison's YouTube channel contains a motherlode of silent era cartoons! KO-KO'S BIG SALE must be seen to be believed.
Who's our favorite stop-motion animator from silents? That would be the great Ladislaw Starewicz. Love his film The Voice Of The Nightingale!
How can the stop-motion genius of Ladislaw Starewicz be equalled? With the stop-motion genius of Charley Bowers!

These are great! I have to say the first one about the leopard and the one about the mosquito are my faves. These are gems, and even more impressive when you realize how old they are. Thanks!
