By the time Vernon and Quillen starred at the Columbia Shorts Department, many of those responsible for classic slapstick gags in the 2-reelers of the 1930's and 1940's were long gone. I have never seen the Mischief Mak...Excellent blog. I have never seen the Mischief Makers short before and it is awfully hard to stomach. It just shows why the early "Our Gang" shorts were so wonderfully natural and funny.<br /><br />I always thought that the Vernon and Quillen shorts were solid, but could have been even better with a little more quality to the scripts.<br /><br />It is too bad that Columbia doesn't release all of their non Stooge shorts.Lawrence Wolffnoreply@blogger.com
